Mom, Dad, Adrianne, Jacob, and Josh,
Arizona looks so nice. All sunny and stuff. Thanks for sending a selfie of you mom, I really appreciate it haha! So you are there till Thursday? I can't wait to hear about all of the adventures you are all having. Sister McCormick says that she lives really close to Scottsdale. How was the rest of your Christmas? It was so fun to see you all! That 45 minutes went by so fast but I am grateful for the short time we had. I feel like Jake and Josh are growing up so fast. Ade looks exactly the same. Just wait, in 5 short months I will be able to see your faces again.
Okay here is my week in review. Christmas was so fun! After I talked to you, I went with some missionaries to a nursing home. We played games and sang Christmas songs with them. I got all teary eyed because it made me think of the time when I worked at Canyon Cove. After that Sister McCormick and I treated ourselves to a little McDonald's run and then went to the church and watched a movie with some missionaries. It was very festive and I loved every minute of it.
The day after Christmas I went on an exchange with a Sister named Sister Anderson. Guess what?!? She knows Tanner Wright too. It's such a small world.
I have a great miracle to share with all of you! We are now teaching this girl named Lauren. Lauren grew up in VA and during high school her locker was next to a Mormon boy. She always thought how nice he was but never thought too much about it. Then she went to college in New Hampshire and got an internship at Adobe in Utah. While she was interning at Adobe she noticed that 80% of the people there were Mormon and they were always so nice to her. She had the best summer of her life in Utah and started dating a Mormon boy who worked at Adobe. She then went back to school and kept thinking about her time in Utah. She came home from Christmas break and tried to get a hold of her locker buddy from high school. Her locker buddy referred her to his older sister. She (Whitney) brought Lauren to church two Sundays ago and we have been teaching her ever since. We even took Lauren, Lauren's boyfriend, Lauren's best friend (nonmember), and Lauren's best friend's boyfriend (nonmember) to the temple yesterday. We watched the Joseph Smith movie and they were all really touched by it. Unfortunately Lauren is going back to school on January 5th. She will finish taking the lessons up in New Hampshire.
Katarine is still coming to church and we are continuing to teach her. I loved going to the temple visitor center with her on Christmas Eve. She is a little shaky on January 11th for her baptism but she will get baptized in the next month. I just know it!
That pretty much sums up my week. I hope you all have such a fun time in AZ. Take lots of pictures for me!
Love,
Sister Smith
