Hey family it’s Wednesday!
Monday was Martin Luther King Day so the libraries were closed. Yesterday everything closed down because of the blizzard and then today we have been extremely busy.
I don't know how we get so much accomplished in a day but we do! I am still working 2 areas and covering 3 stakes. We are still trying to figure out how to make it even because in Braddock we have a lot of set appointments and in Chantilly it’s a lot of member work and tracting. We try to find a good balance. I actually took Sister Patten tracting for her first time the other day. (Her trainer was too afraid to do it!) I told Sister Patten that when we show the Lord our diligence, he will bless us in so many ways! She is a quiet soul, but I am helping her understand the importance of talking to people. She also is scared to drive so I do all of the driving. It’s eventful to say the least. She has already grown so much just taking over her area! She is a sweetheart.
Sister Patten and I taught the restoration at a baptism this past week for a man named Kwabena. I taught him this past November and then after that we passed him to the Elders so that they could finish teaching him. It was so neat to see him on his baptism day!
We are having a lot of struggling sisters in the mission. Today I was in Alexandria helping a sister. It breaks my heart to see them this way but I am grateful for the opportunity that I have to grow and be strengthened by these Sisters. I went on an exchange this past week with a sister named Sister Grey. We had so much fun! I went to a wafle shop (it was really spelled that way haha) and ate chicken and waffles then after we taught people about the gospel.
Sister Patten and I are SO busy. It is very nice but I am so tired. I really went from one extreme to the other. We still have 2 weeks together and I know that we will continue to see miracles. I don't know the reasons why God has trusted me with so much but I hope that I help at least someone along the way. This period of time has strengthened my testimony so much and I know that God does qualify the called. I am merely a servant in the Lord’s hands.
Haha Dad I just got out of an appointment with a guy who is a total Seattle Seahawks fan. He just told me that the Broncos are playing the Seahawks. I can't believe the teams that I actually love are playing together at the Super Bowl. You will have to keep me posted on who wins.
Mom, thanks for sending me all of those pictures! Grandma's foot looks like it hurts. Wahooo! Josh and Jake both did pretty well with their games. Tell Mason that he will be in my prayers!
I have the opportunity to go to another appointment but I love you all! Please keep this mission in your prayers. There are so many missionaries going through a difficult time. Maybe it’s the lack of Vitamin D? Haha! Love you all and I will talk to you soon.
Love,
Sister Smith
