Familia,
Awww I am so happy that you all are doing well and that you are enjoying your summer. You should send me pictures of Josh's room--I can't wait to see it. Jake, you are a stud and these are the first pictures that I have seen with your braces off. It looks like trek went well. Why aren't they wearing pioneer clothes? I don't understand. Dad congrats on the tournament, that's awesome. My birthday was great and I got the package on my birthday. I probably won't get Aunt Jens until transfers. We worked really hard during the day. It was so hot. And then a member took us out for steak dinner. Yesterday he showed me the video of Josh and Dad and the message that you sent him about me. Thank you! I got teary eyed. It is just good to know that I have a good support system. I am excited for the CD's We have one in the car right now. I will also wear that shirt tomorrow, its so cute... And the jewelry.
Okay week in review. Sister Mitchell and I are starting a Book of Mormon study group for less actives and non members. People always talk to us about how they go to these Bible study groups and so we decided to make one of our own. The ward missionaries are helping us out and we hope it will be a big success. I know that when you read the Book of Mormon you will gain that testimony to know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, Joseph Smith is a true prophet in this last dispensation and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's Kingdom on the earth today. This is why it will be a great focus for less actives and our investigators.
We have a progressing investigator who is on date for August 10th. Her name is Katarine. Please keep her in your prayers. She is so prepared and so ready to take that next step.
Funny story for the week. On Wednesday we decided to bike. Our mission President encourages us to bike one day a week. This day was extra hot and humid and riding a bike in a skirt is some hard stuff. We find so many people to teach when we bike that we wouldn't find if we were in our car. Anyways it took us an hour on bike to get to this members home and then when we biked back we were covered in sweat. Sick huh. Well we had a dinner appointment that we had to make and once we got there we cooled off and started talking to the couple. They placed green smoothies on the table and said eat up. I thought they were joking but they were completely serious. Green smoothies for dinner after a long bike ride. YAY! I am counting my blessings though because we have seen miracles every single day. This couple brought a non member to eat dinner (Green Smoothie) with us. I realized afterwards that the non member could not have solid foods because he has 1 tooth. I humbled myself very quickly.
This Sunday we had 4 investigators come to church. This hasn't happened at all since I have been here. We usually have 0, 1, or 2. I have learned that even though there are days where we are knocking on doors for most of the day that the Lord is just testing our patience and willingness to do his will. In return he will bless you by having investigators that you haven't been able to get a hold of show up at church. There was a couple who showed up at the church building with I LOVE JESUS attire. We talked to them after the service and I guess they have been looking for a church and now they want to take the lessons. God is preparing his children. We are just his servants.
Tracting has been fun this week. We have had many people try and cry repentance to us after we ask them about their belief in Jesus Christ. One lady in particular I asked her what her faith was and she said that we should already know and that if we had the Holy Spirit we would know that she was a Christian. She kept telling us that we need to ask God to give us the Holy Spirit. Over and over agian. Your faith can be tested each day but that is why we need to continue to build our foundation on Jesus Christ. Every week I feel like I am standing taller and gaining more and more of a testimony about this great work.
I hope you guys have a great week and thanks again for the package! God be with you till we email again ;) (Punny huh)
Love,
Sister Smith
P.S I am going to the Temple Wednesday... I am so excited! I will take pictures I promise
