Hey,
I have had an amazing week this week! First things first... I cut my hair. It's a lot shorter. A lady in my ward cut it and she said that she gave me the rockstar goddess haircut... Hahaha So I guess I look like a rockstar goddess now. Anyway, we had dinner with a family in the ward and they brought a nonmember named Mike to dinner. We taught him the first lesson and he is now a pretty solid investigator.
Our ward had a Fall Festival this week too! Lots of our investigators came. We even had a member give our investigator Nancy a church tour. She loved it. In June we tracted into a family from Egypt and they came to the festival as well. Erandi came with her 3 children. Isabelle (Daughter of Erandi) even participated in a pie eating contest with Sister Calder and I.... Yes that's right, I was in a pie eating contest. You all would be so proud. I have the best video! Isabelle is the one in the middle.
I also went to a sisters conference. All of the women from the mission got together this week and talked about very important matters. The biggest thing they talked about was Women and the Priesthood. We also talked about how we should be dressing for our missions. There has been some confusion and so Sister Riggs was clearing some stuff up.
Updates on the baptism. It is still on for November 9th. Sister Calder and I are working on planning the baptism. We are going to have a group of primary kids sing "When I am baptized." It's beautiful really. We had a lesson with Erandi and Destiny last night and committed Destiny to baptism. Erandi and Destiny are both getting baptized on November 9th. They are an incredible family. I feel like this was one of the reasons why I was called to DC South. We are bringing a family together :).
I am so happy that you all had a great week! Jake is really going on splits? I can't wait to hear how it goes. Tell Aunt Stef and Sierra a belated Happy Birthday. Josh is going to be Squints for Halloween? That's a great idea. Please send me pictures of them all dressed up. Mom, a Classic Skating shirt is not considered a Halloween costume. Okay I figured out which movies we are watching for Halloween. We are watching Monsters University and the Emperor's New Groove. I haven't seen a movie in almost 6 months so this will be exciting.
I love you all and I hope you have a happy Halloween!
Love, Sister Smith
