Hey it’s Tuesday I know...
We had Zone Conference yesterday so I couldn't send an email then. I loved all of the pictures you sent me from Thanksgiving. It looks like you had such a good time with the family. Everyone looks like they are getting so big! I am so happy that Sabrina had the opportunity to go through the temple. It is so crazy to me that she is leaving in just a few months. Thanks for shaving your beard Jake! Haha it’s sad that before my mission I didn't even know that he could grow a full beard!
Okay I have had a crazy week. Now that I am in a Sister Training Leader position I have no time to even breathe. We are running (literally) and it is exhausting... But SO MUCH FUN! Okay so my week in review. First things first, I love my new calling. I went on another exchange with a Sister this week and I really am learning how I can become a better missionary from all of the things I learn in every area. I am learning to trust the spirit and it’s amazing that I can help these girls with what they are going through. The spirit truly is the teacher.
Last week I street contacted into this young man while I was on exchanges. He had never talked to missionaries before and he wanted to feel God’s love. We had a lesson with him this week and we put him on date for January 4th. I am really learning that God really does put people in your path who are ready for the gospel. We actually have another lesson with him in an hour. It’s truly incredible.
Thanksgiving! Haha I am realizing that being in a singles ward for the holidays is a bit of a struggle. But we made it the best Thanksgiving it could be. We wanted to emulate a Mormon message. It was the one when they ask people on the streets of New York what they are grateful for. We decided to do it on the GMU campus. We really did not think this one through because EVERY SOUL was out for Thanksgiving break. It was still a lot of fun to be with my district. After that we went to Bishops home for a Thanksgiving feast. Then.... we got together with some girls in the singles ward and had our second Thanksgiving feast. We were so so so full by the end. Sister McCormick and I decided that we are mission chunkies. There really is no way of getting around it haha.
I am so grateful for the support and encouragement that you give me every week! Since Justin is already meeting with the missionaries I probably will not be able to teach him but I am so happy that he is making this decision to take the lessons. I actually got a letter from Sara this week and I just love them all so much. Please keep me updated and let me know what I can do to help. I know that I always talk about my missionary work but I want to hear about yours? I love you all and I hope you have another amazing week full of miracles!
Love, Sister Smith
