That was such a fun discussion yesterday! I will be reading up on the story of Joshua for future reference ;). I am so grateful that Adrianne was able to come down and participate in the lesson. I love her so much! I hope Ella gets feeling better too. Mom, thanks for all of the pictures. Jake looks like he is having the time of his life. The stranger selfie is my favorite haha.
This week has been full of meetings. Woman's conference, interviews with President Riggs, Mission Leadership Council, General Conference.... I have gained so much knowledge of how to better myself and better the work. Now I just need to take it all in and apply what I learned. I really feel that Conference is like Christmas as a missionary. I was spiritually filled and ready to tackle these next six months. All of the conference talks were great. It was fun to hear Elder Zwick and Elder Teh. I heard Elder Zwick at the MTC and Elder Teh came to our mission a few months ago. Elder Ballard gave an awesome talk about missionary work that I thoroughly enjoyed. Family I hope you all listened to that one too! My challenge to you is to study from Preach My Gospel so that you can help teach Justin the lessons. We will be going over the Plan of Salvation so study chapter 3 lesson 2. I am so grateful for this tool. It explains the lessons so simply. It will be awesome to help Jake get prepared for when he goes on his mission. Jake really has 1 year. Wow, time flies huh?
Gainesville has so much potential. We are in a bit of a drought with investigators but I know that as we are diligent, patient, and have faith we will see miracles. I relate my mission to the following scripture. In Jeremiah 16:16 it reads, "Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks." I am a hunter in a sense. My mission has made me sweat, cry, rejoice, and truly humble myself and realize that this is the Lord's work. As I am out finding those who are prepared, the Lord will guide my companion and I to those who are elect.
It has been raining all day today so we decided to reschedule our DC trip for next week. Spring is on its way! I am starting to see blossoms... Beautiful really! I hope you all have a great week and I will see you on Skype this Sunday.
Love,
Sister Smith
