Dad I am so sorry that you are not feeling well! Mom is so right, when dad isn't working it must be real bad. I hope you get feeling better and things get easier. Jake, I am so happy that you went to a dance! Your tie made me laugh really hard. I hope you treated her like a queen! Ahh that's so cool that Ade will be working on campus next semester. I am sure that is a dream come true for her. Mom I am happy that you got that picture from Sister Liddiard. It’s always such a treat to see her and her husband around.
Sister McCormick and I are both feeling much better. We were snowed in our apartment again on Tuesday. Family, everything really does close down when there is a little bit of snow on the grounds. The roads were pretty icy so it was better that we didn't go out and work. I had my Mission Christmas Party this week. It was so fun to see all of my friends in different zones. I also got to see Sister Mitchell and Sister Calder again. I just love them so much! We had another miracle this week. We have been working with this less active ever since I came into the ward. Last week I had the prompting to ask her if we could teach her non member boyfriend over Skype. She politely accepted the invitation and we had a lesson via Skype with her boyfriend a few days ago. He is very prepared and wants to learn more. Our less active friend bore her testimony to him and they are both now reading the Book of Mormon together. She wrote both Sister McCormick and I the sweetest letter thanking us for strengthening her testimony and helping her strengthen her relationship with her boyfriend. MIRACLES HAPPEN! Katarine is so solid as well. We will have a lesson with her this Wednesday.
Updates on Christmas: Bishop said that we can actually come to his house on Christmas. I will be Skyping at his home sometime that day. I will let you know the plans next Monday. Hey mom can you actually send me some Carinesa bottoms? I realize every day that I am not a big fan of the cotton ones. What are your plans for Christmas? That will be so fun to go to Arizona after Christmas! I just talked to Sister McCormick and it would be awesome if you could go see her mom and dad while you are there. Her family lives in Phoenix. Let me know and I will give you the deets.
I really do love Christmas in Northern Virginia. I am so grateful for the chance that I have to be here during this Christmas season. Being on a mission has really opened my eyes to what Christmas really is all about. Christmas is about Christ and recognizing what he means to us in our lives. Jesus Christ had such a humble birth, lived a humble life, humbly atoned for our sins, humbly gave his life and was resurrected so that we can return to live with our Father in Heaven. I know that we all can be perfect through Christ. I love my Savior and I am so grateful for his Grace and because of his love and atoning sacrifice I can change and become the person he wants me to be. May we all come to know him more fully this Christmas season and emulate the example that he gave.
I love you all!
Love Sister Smith
P.S. 1 /2 weeks till I can see all your smiling faces!
P.S.S. I would love anyone to be there who wants to be. It would be nice to see Sabrina too before she leaves on her mission.
