"Promise me you'll always remember; you're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.." - Christopher Robbin to Pooh
Where does the time go? Man, It truly amazes me that we are almost done with this transfer. Sister Lindmeir has a week and a half till she goes back to Kiana Lindmeir. We have had so much fun together and can't believe that it's almost over.
This week I had the opportunity to go on exchanges with Sister Taylor and Sister Martindale. They are both very solid missionaries who have a strong desire to work. Sister Taylor is in the Warrenton 2nd ward and I have been to that area every transfer since I came to Gainesville. The first time I was there I was able to talk to this nonmember who was friends with some of the youth in the ward. After my first exchange there the Warrenton sisters said that the nonmember has never opened up to anyone like that before. The 2nd time I went to Warrenton this nonmember became an investigator. She was progressing for a good month and then decided to stop meeting with the missionaries. I knew that I was going to Warrenton for the third time so I messaged this person on Facebook and told her that I would be in the area for the day. She ended up coming to Mutual and we had an awesome lesson with her! I know now that there was a reason why I go to Warrenton everytime.
Sister Martindale came to Gainesville for our exchange. We got a new investigator named Dean. He is a pilot! We brought a member to the lesson and they clicked right away. I will keep you updated with his progression.
The next big event was our Sisters Conference with President and Sister Riggs. I go on a lot of exchanges with sisters who feel inadequate and compare themselves to all the sisters around them. It breaks my heart! During the sisters conference we talked a lot about becoming perfect through Christ. I know that it really helped the sisters and I and it was exactly what all of us sisters needed to hear.
Highlight of the week. Last year when I was in the Centreville 2nd ward I became really close with an internigator named Maryrose. She found me on Facebook and has wanted to see me ever since. I got permission from President Riggs and so Maryrose came all the way to Gainesville to take Sister Lindmeir and I out to lunch. We had such a fun time catching up... Now she just needs to get baptized ;).
It sounds like the boys had fun at Tennis camp. Tell Jake he needs to be careful with those 18 year old girls ;). Mom I am happy that you had fun on your retreat. Parents, that sounds like a great time in the good ole Rexburg. I really do love that place and I am sure Ade enjoyed having you there.
We are pretty booked this week with appointments... (YAY!) So can we plan on a Skype lesson with the Hobans next Monday the 21st? Let me know what your thoughts are.
Hmmm.. Birthday... I would actually love a CD called Near. (I think that's what it's called). The Lower Lights have a great CD out too. That is really all that I can think of. I am getting pretty sick of all my clothes but I don't want anymore because I have enough to get me through the rest of my mission. It will be nice to get things when I get home.
I love you all and I hope you have a beautiful week!
Love your missionary,
Sister Smith
