Hey guys,
I'm glad that you all survived while mom was away at girls camp! Mom, how did it go? Wow thats so sad that the 14 year old boy died. Ahh, it is so true though. He is starting his mission early. Did Josh know him? Tell Josh that I am so proud of him for being nominated for the Order of the Arrow. I don't really know what that is but Josh is awesome so it must be pretty cool.
My ward here in Centreville is going on trek this week too. Jake, that is so awesome! He is going to love it. I can't believe that we all went 4 years ago. Time goes by so fast. Haha yes the days of the swamp cooler. I am so sorry, thats awful! It is so typical huh. Good luck at your tennis tournament dad, you are going to be great! Let me know how it goes k?
Transfers were this past Thursday. I am in my same area with my same companion for the next six weeks. I love it here! Centreville 2nd is my family. It's amazing how I have been here for almost 2 months. I am standing a little taller each day and from this my teaching has improved and I have come to love the people we teach.
I sang in a Stake Missionary Musical fireside on Wednesday. We sang Be Still My Soul, and How Great thou Art with my Zone. There were also missionaries who sang solos. We invited our investigators and we had a lady named Mary Rose come. She is a lady who we do service for every week. She is so funny. Everytime we do service for her something happens. Last week we broke a picture frame. But she loves us and so she likes us to still come back. She has taken the discussions for 7+ years and she doesn't want to convert but she says we are lovely.
We have 2 new Investigators. The Elders in the Centreville 1st ward received a member referral and they found out that this referral was in our area so we had a Pass Lesson. Their names are Katarine and Melvin. They are so amazing. Mom, Katarine is from Peru! I asked what part of Peru she was from and it wasn't Trujillo Still great though. I guess Katarine has been going to the Centreville 1st ward for the past 3 weeks. We dropped off a Spanish Book of Mormon yesterday and she told us that she wants us to come back every week and teach her. We ask always but she said it before we asked her. We are going to set a baptism date on Wednesday. She is so prepared! During the first lesson she was even telling her husband that he needs to just have faith in believing the things that we are telling them. I am so excited to teach more than the first lesson! Our investigators usually don't get past the Restoration. We are having trouble with investigators keeping commitments and so this is huge!
I was sitting in Ward Council yesterday and my Ward Mission Leader leaned over to me and told me that I have Dermatitis around my eyes. He is a Dermatologist (It comes in handy). He gave me this cream to put around my eyes. My face is still really dry. He told me to stop using Proactiv for a while and he gave me a certain cleanser that will be good for my face. So now I have Sesamoiditis, Dermatitis and I am just waiting to see what other itis I can get haha. The Lord is really watching out for me and so I know that I will be okay.
I now know what pure heat and humidity feels like. It's been very hot and humid so makeup rarely gets but on. I am getting a great Sister Missionary tan. Especially with my shoes. I take great pride in that :) .
Thanks for all the prayers! I love you all. Have such a great week and good luck with all of your events!
Love, Sister Smith
P.S Tell people to put my first name on the letters or I won't receive it. There are too many Sister Smiths :)
K Bye
