Welp hey Fambam,
Yeah the weather here reminds me of Utah, except more humid. It's so bipolar. We will go out and start tracting on a hot summer day, and then it will immediately rain, and an hour later it will be back to the humid hot weather again. Hahaha its crazy! I'm glad dad's birthday and Father's Day went well! Dad, I got your email and yeah yesterday I was greeting the ward and Bro. Walter came up to me and said that he just talked to you!!! I didn't believe him at first but then he started talking about real estate and I instantly started to get teary eyed. It was such a good Father's Day for that reason! I thought about you guys a lot yesterday and was curious to how you were celebrating Father's Day, If you were curious to how I spent my Father's Day I will tell you that it truly was just like any other day of the week except for the fact that I went to church and tracted for longer than usual. Sister Mitchell is such a good sport though. I really cant believe she is training me after only being here for 4 months. It's insanity.
ITS JAKE'S BIRTHDAY TODAY!!! Ahhhh he has been on my mind a lot today and I hope he is doing well. I like the pictures you sent me of Jake on (MY) car. I am so curious to know if I will ever see it again. Tell him that I love him and that I hope he has the best birthday ever. Josh and Jake are pretty busy this summer. I am happy that Josh is doing tennis too.
Okay week in review. Well we have 4 new investigators. 2 of them are Catholics from India and the other two we found a couple of weeks ago and they are anxious to learn more. I love giving the first lesson because when you do you can see how this message really touches people! One thing that I have been working on is not getting discouraged when I can't teach something right. I really just want to jump in and teach with inspiration but I know from being out here that my flaws have been magnified. I love the scripture Ether 12:27, It talks about how when we come to the Lord he will show us our weakness. But by having our weakness shown, we can be humbled and those weak things can be made strong. There was a Mormon message that I love and I don't know if I already shared it with you but it says, "You don't know everything, but you know enough!" I can bear testimony of the simple truths that I have. I know that if I put trust in the Lord that I will be able to overcome the weakness that I have.
The next great thing I have to talk about is exchanges. I went on my first exchange this week with a Sister Training Leader. She was so cute and fun. From this whole experience I had to rely on the Lord when making certain decisions like where to tract, who to see. From this we were able to find a new investigator who wanted a church tour right when we met him, and 5 potential investigators. This mission is all about relying on the Lord and I am starting to see that for myself.
Today I found out how small this world is. One of the ladies in our ward was bringing us dinner and her name is Sister Emords. She asked if I knew a Todd Smith and I told her that he was my dad's cousin. She was really excited because I guess she is an upseller for Youngevity or something like that. She says she knows you dad hahaha!
I am so sorry this email was short but I love you all and I cant wait to hear from you next week. Hey mom, can you send me some awesome religious CD's that we can play in the car. We have been listening to motab for the last 2 1/2 weeks and I think we need a change of music. If you want you can even burn some from my computer. Also, did you ever get our family pictures back? If you did then you should send some to me in the mail so I can put a picture on my desk.
I love you all!!!
Love Sister Smith
P.S I cant wait to hear about Chels! ... Send me lots of pictures in the mail :)
