Hey everyone, it’s me again! Haha I probably say this every week but I can't believe that it’s Monday again. Yesterday was the Super Bowl huh? It’s interesting being a missionary on Super Bowl day. There were a lot of appointments that fell through in Chantilly because everyone was watching the game... Priorities :). I bet Jake was happy that the Seahawks won. Mom I like what you said... "The Seahawks won 1000 to 8 or something like that." I am sorry that everyone has been so sick! That’s not fun at all! I hope that you all get feeling better. How is the weather down there? If you were wondering this is the worst it’s been in VA for years. I am so grateful to be so lucky and brave all of the storms. The Lord also knew that I could only handle 1 winter here. Can you believe that it’s February! I hit my 1/2 way mark this month. It’s hard to believe that Sabrina leaves in 1 month. That went by way fast! I am so excited for her. We will be serving half of our missions at the same time.
This week was busy as usual. DC was a lot of fun! An investigator in the Burke ward took us. We went to almost every museum in 5 hours. My feet hurt quite a bit when we came home. I went to the museum of Natural History, American History, Air and Space Museum, Art museum. We only saw highlights from them. You really could spend all day in one museum if you wanted to.
I went on 2 exchanges this week. Sister Patten has been such a good sport to allow me to go on all of these exchanges. It was our last full week to work in 2 areas. It’s bittersweet because I am falling in love with the Chantilly ward. They have been so good to us. I forgot what it felt like to be in a home ward. In the singles ward we don’t get very many home cooked meals and so it was nice to have that for a few weeks. We saw miracles in Braddock and Chantilly this week. We have a new investigator in Chantilly. She is solid and will be going to the Chantilly ward this coming Sunday. Katerine is still progressing. She was having a difficult time this week and received a blessing from some of the priesthood holders in the Braddock ward. I know that she is ready for baptism and she is so close I can feel it! We have been working with quite a few members to help them get back to church. One of them who is a dear friend to me finally came to church yesterday. It was a beautiful thing!
Transfers are this coming Thursday! I can't believe how fast this transfer went. I will be getting a new companion and will only be working in Braddock. President told me in his email this week that he is looking forward to have me back in Braddock full time with a healthy companion so I will be able to "run" again. I am looking forward to what lies ahead but I am so grateful to have had this experience.
I hope this week goes well for you all. Mom, I can't think of anything that I really need right now. If I think of anything I will for sure let you know next week.
Thanks for all of the love and support you give me each week.
Love,
Sister Smith
