Hey Fambam,
It’s Tuesday I know... It was Presidents Day and so all of the libraries were closed. Thanks for sending me all of those pictures. I love Sabrina's face in that one of her eating foreign food. I am sure she will grow to love it just like mom had to in Peru. We have a new Stake Presidency? Wow, that’s pretty crazy. I guess you’re right; it has been a long time. All of the car problems this Smith family has. Well.... I don’t believe in coincidences but Sister Hills and I also got in an accident this past week. We are both okay and the church is taking really good care of us. Hahaha too good!
So much has happened this week. If it were up to me I would give you all of the details of everything that has happened but you will all just have to wait 9 more months and then I will just talk to you for days. Speaking of... I hit my half way mark this past week. I really can't believe that I only have 9 months to go. It has just flown!
Virginia weather is insane! We had a snow day on Wednesday. The snow just kept coming and coming. We were bored but we updated the area book, called lots on friendly folks and built a snowbear! The snow is starting to melt today but it has just been crazy. On Valentine’s day Sister Hills and I cut out hearts and attached them to mormon.org cards with our phone number on the back. We went to George Mason University and gave all of these young single adults Valentines. We were even able to pass out a couple of Book of Mormons that day. I got your valentine on my doorstep when I came in for the night. The cupcakes were very delicious. We even passed out a few of them to our Sisters. THANK YOU!
Our focus for our missionary work this transfer is all about the rescue. There are so many lost souls in our ward and from this we are seeing miracles. There are so many neat ysa's in this area. They all have a unique story to tell. We have contacted quite a few less actives and are having such a fun time!
Yesterday I had the opportunity to go to the Temple. Our rule for the temple is we can only go every 6 months. I have not been since June so I had the opportunity to go with some sisters in the Fort Belvior ward. The Liddiards got to take us. It was my first time seeing the new movie and I was such a sob story by the end. I love the Temple and the spirit that’s there. I felt at peace knowing that all of the things that I am dealing with will work out.
Sister Hills is such a dream. She has diabetes and this past week we have had some scares. Please continue to keep her in your prayers. With all of the challenges that I am facing on my mission, I am realizing that it’s going to help me when I become a nurse.
Anywhoo I hope that you all have a beautiful week and I hope that it continues to warm up out there. Give Sabrina a squeeze for me. I have been getting butterflies as March 5th gets closer. She is going to be a rockstar for sure!
Love,
Sister Smith
