Mom, Dad, Jacob, Josh, Adrianne,
I have made it 6 days in the MTC! I am loving it here. My first day I went into my classroom and met my companion and my district. I love them all so much. Okay I'll brag about my companion for a little bit. Her name is Sister Dickson. Mom, she is the one we found on Facebook. As soon as we started talking I knew that I would just love her. We have a lot of the same interests and our outfits are a lot alike. She is such a barbie though. She loves her makeup and she is of course blonde hair and blue eyed. I have taken so many pictures and I can't figure out how to send them to you on the MTC computer.
Tell Aunt Jen that she was right. I just had to make it to Sunday. We had Mary Ellen Edmunds come speak to us for the devotional and she cracked me up. She is so funny and also motivating. I want to be just like her when I grow up. You guys will have to look her up on youtube. I have seen Eliza, Courtney Davis, and I barely missed Megan Aston. But Eliza is doing great. She loves it here and her companion is adorable.
Okay I have a calling people! Since there are 51% Sisters at the MTC they have a new calling where they call one sister in every district. You are now looking at the new Sister Training Leader! This means that I will help the sisters coming to the MTC tomorrow. The wave is just starting. Our STL was in charge of my district but now I will actually be in charge of two districts. It's kind of fun because on Sunday I get to go to more meetings and hang out with the zone leaders. I am the oldest sister in my district. But over the whole district I am the second oldest. There is one Elder who is a convert to the church. Basically my district is filled with 19 year olds. They are such an example to me though, and they have such a spirit about them.
Okay next topic. Sorry this might sound weird but they time us on the computers at the MTC. I have 15 minutes left. In the MTC we have practice investigators. It's called TRC. People outside of the MTC sign up to act as investigators. Our Investigator is named Lawanna. She is a sassy black lady. She was really rude to us when we walked in but we just started talking to her and had a conversation with her that made her cry! We gave her a message about the restoration and then we left. When we walked out of the room I heard her tell one of the TRC people, ´´Those were some great girls, their dads would be proud!´´ So be proud dad! I have found that it's not about teaching lessons, it's about teaching people. Getting to know your investigators more will help them open up to you and then that way they will believe you when you teach them. Preach My Gospel is amazing and I am learning so much from it every day.
Okay mom I know I am lactose intolerant and it's been so great because I don't crave dairy here. I eat a lot of wraps because the food is really starchy. For breakfast they even have rice milk for me. I eat breakfast at 6:30, lunch at 11, and dinner at 4. Thank you so much for the package! I picked it up this morning and I know that I will be snacking on that food before bed because I find myself starving by 9.
Funny story. one of my Trainers is my friend's ex-boyfriend We talked about it and it's so hilarious. Next fact. I came down with a cold. 3 days ago. It's nice to have a set of Elders who can give you blessings at any time.
Okay I am running out of time but I love you all so much and I can't wait to hear from you next week!
Love,
Sister Smith
