Hey,
Fall in Virginia is such a joy! I know I probably told you this last year but the trees here never cease to amaze me. I am in awe every time I walk out the door. There is also something about cardigan weather... I love it!
I have had another miracle week. I really hope you all do not get tired of me sharing my miracles because truthfully I see them everyday in the mission field. God continues to pour blessings down! My big miracle story for the week is all about Erin. Erin is a thirteen year old girl who lives in a returning less active part member home. The mom is the member and has not been to church in years. Erin (the daughter) asked her mom if they could go to church (Erin had not been since she was a toddler) and the mom knew in her heart that she should go. They ended up going to church and loved it. Now, Erin has been going to church for the past few weeks and wants to be a baptized member. We have now taught her two lessons this week and she will be getting baptized October 19th. SO PREPARED!
I had my last interview with President Riggs this past week... lets just say he talked about going home. I got a little emotional during the interview but it was much needed. I really do have such an amazing mission president! How did I get to this point in my mission? It really does feel like you dropped my off yesterday.
This week also consisted of meetings... many meetings. I went to a Sisters Conference for the Washington DC South sister missionaries. We focused a lot on self worth and priesthood blessings. Sister Richins and I also enjoyed the Women's conference Saturday night (yay conference).
I want you to take a minute and guess who I was in an elevator with yesterday... So yesterday I was in my apartment elevator with a Redskins player. I said a few words to him but looking back I am sure that it was so awkward. He actually lives on our floor two doors down. That is right Jake and Josh... I live two doors down from a Redskins player. The Redskins all practice in Ashburn and so we see a lot of them around this area. I have such a great mission!
The new condo in St. George looks awesome! Let's please take a trip down there when I get home. You all did a great job decorating the place. Dad, congrats on completing your first Sunday as a bishop. One thing that I have learned while being a missionary is to laugh at my mistakes because I sure have made a lot of them.
I love you and am looking forward to seeing you all tonight on Skype. We will be following up with the fast and his scripture reading and then talking about the Word of Wisdom and the 10 Commandments.
Love your missionary,
Sister Smith
