Hey guys,
It's so good to hear that the reunion went well! I say we all go on another one when I get home k? Lava cake? Man, I am a jealous soul. River rafting sounds like a lot of fun. How is the Smith side of the family? How did grandma and grandpa like the reunion? Hahahahaha Mom you are so funny. I know that you are going to have a blast at camp. You even bought a mattress? Come on hahaha. I would love to receive that package sometime soon. Tyler just barely sent me CD's. Step it up parents, Just kidden :) Thank you for all that you are doing!
This week has been okay. We got a new investigator on Wednesday! Our Progressing investigators are not progressing anymore because they didn't enjoy the service last week. We told them that it will be different and you will have to make changes but you will find joy in coming closer to our Savior. I am being bold now parents. I am getting familiar will the restoration now and I feel better about street contacting. There are so many dogs here so it's really easy to start off by saying, "Ohhhh I love your dog, what's its name?" It works a ton!
4th of July was really just like any other day. We woke up that morning and had our studies, went to a ward breakfast (None of our investigators came). Then we served at a thrift store called Clock Tower (We do this every Thursday). We ate dinner with a family, and then we tracted for the last 3 hours. PARTY! It was hard but with both Sister Mitchell and I being new we have decided that next 4th of July we will set up Dinner appointments with members and invite the investigators to join.
The weather is getting crazy. The other day it was 96 degrees with humidity. Tracting isn't that fun on those days. I need to buy a cooler to keep water cold in the car. It has also been raining. I really don't understand this weather. It's weird.
I have learned a great lesson this week. Well I have been focusing on standing a little taller each day and from this I have grown to really feel for my investigators. One of our solid investigators dropped us last night and it was the first time that I cried.. Like really cried. I just want them to realize the importance of the message that we are sharing. The Book of Mormon is such a sacred book and I want them to be able to see the power in it. Ohhh I have a story for you! We visit this less active couple every Sunday before church. Before we went over to their house I have this feeling that we needed to change the message that we were going to share with them. We wanted to focus on faith and Alma 32 stuck out. Then I wanted to focus on one verse and verse 42 stuck out. When we came to give the thought, the couple sat in silence and then told us that this is exactly what they needed to hear for that day. The spirit really spoke through us. The couple came to church on Sunday and also bore their testimonies and talked about the verse that we shared. God really knows what he is doing!
Well this is the last week of transfers. We find out if we are being transferred tomorrow. I could even be training already. The work is hastening very quickly. I know that whatever happens that God will qualify me. Thanks for keeping me in your prayers!
I love you and I can't wait to hear about all of the adventures in the coming week!
Love,
Sister Smith
