Mom you are right, this week really did fly! It seems like just yesterday when we had our little Skyping fiasco. Jake looks so cute! I am very grateful that he went to Prom. How did he ask his date? He really is growing up so much.
Lots of things have happened since last Monday. Sister Stott and I talked at Zone Conference about commitment. I have been a sister training leader for a while and this is the first Zone Conference that I had to present at. I am a lucky human huh? Zone Conference was all day this past Tuesday and then Elder Ballard came and spoke to us this past Saturday for a full mission conference. We actually had 760 missionaries from 3 missions at the conference. The Baltimore and the DC North missions were also there. Sister Stott and I were in the 2nd row. He looked right at me! (LDS Starstruck moment haha). He was also there with Elder Clayton of the 70. I was inspired and motivated to work and push myself more than I ever have in my service as a missionary.
Elder Ballard focused on the importance of talking to everyone we see. I really have gained a testimony of talking to everyone because we never know who we will come in contact with. One of the best phrases he said was, "We will make saints out of them!" I know that everyone has great potential and can become like our Savior. I know that we can make saints out of everyone that we come in contact with. Elder Clayton also focused on Joseph Smith's first vision and the opportunity that every soul feel the love of God through us missionaries. He told us that "People HEAR HIM when they hear us!" It really is so neat and rare to hear from an apostle on my mission.
We had such a blessed week with our investigator Vivian. We had two lessons with her this week and she also came to church for the first time since 1992. She is praying about baptism on June 21st. It's incredible to know that we are tools in her conversion process. I was able to find her cleaning her car and now she has the desire to get baptized. MIRACLE! We also have been working with a less active member who finally came to church for the first time in years. I know that there is no coincidence that I am in this area at this time. I love Gainesville!
I love you and am so excited to Skype with Justin and his family today.
Love, Sister Smith
P.S We had such an awkward moment this week! I was stuck in an elevator for 10 minutes. I kept thinking that the elevator would drop and it would be a tower of terror moment. Thankfully someone came to our rescue! Haha it was too good!
